Sunshine
Our region has about 50% or 700 more hours of sunshine per year than the central UK average.
Rainfall
As you can tell from how green the countryside is we do get reasonable levels of rainfall however it tends to fall in much shorter spells particularly in the summer when it often arrives in the form of evening downpours.
Temperatures
Obviously being in Southern France it is generally much warmer here with average daytime maximums varying from 20 to 27 celsius during the period from the end of April to the beginning of November.
Holidays in Springtime.
April, May & early June. The highlights of a springtime holiday are all the spring flowers, birds & wildlife which with limited leaf cover are generally easier to spot. You can also normally expect all the rivers & waterfalls etc to be in full flow so the gorges look particularly beautiful.
Summer holidays
Mid June to mid September is a lovely relaxing time of year with long hot days turning to warm balmy summer evenings. During warm spells we still have plenty of shaded walks for you to enjoy through gorges or along the riverbanks. If you prefer we can always make an early start before returning to spend the afternoon relaxing in the shade & taking a dip in our swimming pool.
Autumn holidays
Late September to early November is wonderful here & is certainly our favourite season. The weather is normally perfect with cool misty mornings giving way to glorious warm sunny days. During October the Causse in particular is truly stunning with all the trees providing a kaleidoscope of colour set against the white dry stone walls & limestone slabs.
