This is a quiet unspoilt region with the limestone plateaux of the Causse to the west & the volcanic mountains of Cantal to the east. To the north & south of us are two of France's most beautiful river valleys the Dordogne & the Lot. The area is heavily wooded with steep gorges & valleys interspersed with traditional meadows & orchards.

Farming methods & the way of life here is very traditional with sheep grazing on the Causse giving way to cattle on the lush pastures of the Cantal. The abundance of woodland & traditional hay meadows full of wild flowers makes this an ideal habitat for butterflies & other wildlife such as red squirrel, pine martin, dormice, deer, foxes, badgers, lizards, frogs, toads, newts, dragon & damselflies, over 40 different species of butterflies & far too many species of birds to list.
